VAN TULLIS BIOGRAPHY

Van C. Tullis, principal of Van Tullis Interiors, is a widely respected interior designer with over nineteen years of experience.

His distinctive interiors emerge from a creative vision that is based on three basic principles:

• Clear intention
• Honest communication
• Use of quality materials

Van Tullis has worked with hundreds of residential and commercial clients and his interiors have been widely published. Before founding Van Tullis Interiors in Chicago, he spent twelve years with Perlmutter-Friewald, Inc., the active Detroit-area design firm, as a leading designer, administrator and shareholder, and three years on a rewarding creative sabbatical in Santa Fe.

Van Tullis brings rich experience to his interior designs. Besides extensively renovating several of his own homes, he has also studied furniture design, sculpture, ceramics and drawing. Activities have included serving as a board member of Detroit Focus and as a crisis counselor for Common Ground.

Tullis is also an active member of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Art Institute of Chicago, The Terra Museum of American Art, Chicago Architecture Foundation and the Architecture and Design Society.
