OUR PROCESS You can expect the highest level of detail and
precision from Van Tullis Interiors, regardless of project size or scope.
See our Case Studies for some examples
of real-life projects.
Each project typically follows these steps:
Phase 1: Project definition
We work closely with you to establish a good relationship, and understand
the project goals and parameters. This phase results in a project scope,
schedule and budget.
Phase 2: Research & preparation
Fact-finding intensifies. We continue client interviews, conduct regulatory
research, and meet with architects and contractors.
Phase 3: Concept development & refinement
We develop the plan. We create layouts for existing rooms, and work closely
with the architect on any planned renovations, flooring and/or new rooms.
After initial approvals, we refine the design. Depending on the project,
this process may take weeks or months. Some buildings reveal unexpected
surprises that demand new solutions. Other projects only require small
changes to color or fabrics.
Phase 4: Design implementation & supervision
We communicate the final plans to the architect and contractors, take
final measurements, and place orders.
Close supervision is extremely important at this point. We work closely
with the client, architect, construction supervisor, and all appropriate
tradespeople.
Our office oversees deliveries, schedules, shipping and warehousing, and
manages billing and payments for all related expenses.
Phase 5: Project completion
We ensure all work is completed per contract, and that all pieces are
in good condition and perfectly placed. Fine-tuning continues until the
project is complete and the space is ready to use.
